French have a big dubbing culture, so films you already know, you can re-watch them with French voice actors.

I love this film for example. It is based on a Guinean tale. But watch out the subs are Portuguese, not French. Both languages are similar and could confuse you.

Ok thanks. I'm gonna try the music and movie thing. I don't think I could function with my phone in a different language. I have a few months tho. I just wanna get to a functional level where I can get around by myself and converse decently. I don't need to be fluent.

But you already know all the buttons, and what everything means, it will be a matter of days and you have everything figured out in French. Honestly it is the easiest. Because when French gurs rap or talk quickly you hear nothing but gibberish...

And have you ever heard of babbel? They are great too. Plus you can write down the name of things on post-it's and stick them to your furniture at home, like this you will see that bed means lit, computer is ordinateur etc.
