Donna summer is from the disco era which is discounted and disregarded. People liked her and some still do but her being overlooked isn't surprising,  that whole era of music is disregarded

it's crazy, but her influence on all the younger divas is undeniable

Yeah I'm seeing. But I'm one of those one that reads album credits. I wanna know who wrote what when it was written and what was sampled. I read everything.

I still purchase albums for that I'm not big on buying on iTunes tbh.

Most definitely
And disco still lives on in different elements in 2016.
Songs considered disco-influenced-styled: "Get Lucky" (Daft Punk), "Birthday" (Katy Perry), "Sugar" (Maroon 5), "Treasure" (Bruno Mars), just to name a few.

Never bought a whole album off iTunes singles yes.

I like my albums on compact disc with tangible artwork.

Yeah

I always assumed people (mainly white rock fans) hated disco because black and/or gay people were successful WW and having a great time.

I mean...

Chic
Sylvester
Diana Ross
Gloria Gaynor
The Village People
etc

What an era  :ohwow:
