The whole reason Lyn was granted to opportunity to join the show late was because Kelly saw Bey in her. We all know Kelly still has that childhood sister/role model infatuation with Beyonce. And it's probably the answer to the original question.

The group was created for Kristal to start with. The top 16 weren't picked until January of this year yet Frank posted this on his IG in August of last year:

He convinced Kelly to be his pawn in making that happen. They don't want to be as overt as DC was with Bee in terms of making her the lead but they definetly makes sure she's the always the first one you see/hear in Prune's Diarrhea.

I noticed Bee doesn't really fuck with Kelly or Frank much anymore I suspect this is at the root of that rift. A lil cute influence here and there is one thing but no artist wants a full on clone.
