social media/youtube pretty much phased those kind of shows out. no one has to sit in front of a tv to watch their favorite music video or a get hip to any new music and with bet mimicking everything mtv does, I'm sure new music related programs isn't on the memo.

MTV is bringing back a few of their shows tho.  They just need to offer something more than videos and people will watch,  i think.  I would if the show had some more elements

This would be cute in the mid-00's luv black pop culture is literally non-existent these days. Especially with social media (i.e. 'black twitter') literally everything regarding black music and youth is regulated to tweets or vids that are under 1 minute so I can't imagine a whole show about it. People would tune out fast. I think a panel for young black entrepreneurs and public figures would be interesting. Like they could discuss today's topics or history.

Sorry, i just think people are less likely to watch a television show like this online.  I know i wouldn't go online to watch it.  This aint OITNB or some mess to get invested in,  aint nobody going to BET.COM top watch no damn 106 &park. This is EXACTLY the show that needs to be on tv. It would go unwatched online.

The format of the OLD 106 and park would go unwatched online, to me.

But if they revamped it... where the focus is NOT on the countdown, but rather an artist interview, performance, behind-the-song, etc. It could work.

But we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Thx bby! June's Diary made me think about it. I was listening to their song and thought how they would be all over '106 & Park' right now if it was still on the air. It sucks that they don't have that outlet to promote & gain exposure.

I'd love an Unplugged/Diary reboot, but I don't see it fitting into today's music scene. Social media has pretty much ruined the mystery of the celebrity and most artists aren't talented enough to pull off some sort of acoustic performance.
