I agree with her that its a double standard.  Women (and some men) put drain cleaner on their scalps to straighten out the kinks everyday but we don't call them self haters.  We also have light skinned black women who go to tanning salons (Raven admitted to doing it during That's So Raven) which can cause Cancer but everyone thinks its cute.

Azalea should embrace her natural color cause I think it adds to her appeal, but I can't call her a self hater and then ignore the fact that Rihanna, Keri Hilson, and FLOPica have never worn their natural hair texture in the 10+ years they've been celebrities.

Mon'ca hasn't permed her hair in nearly 2 decades. Because she straightens it doesn't mean it's not her texture. It's very much her texture. Straightening is a style.

If she's been straightening it nonstop its very likely that her texture isn't natural anymore.  Some "natural" girls even do it purposely to get a looser texture.  It's called "heat training".

She doesn't straighten it "non stop" though. That's why she uses sew ins and wigs to protect her hair. I get what you're saying though. But she has beautiful , healthy natural hair. And recently she's been quick to throw some braids in her hair for a natural look.

Jesus Christ.

And yes that's another thing

Perms are also self damaging. I'm sorry but I see her point. We don't mind the gorls dipping their head into Drano but whitenicious? Oh no now THATS self hate

Ghggggj

Wanting to try ur hair in different styles is the same as drastically changing ur appearance PERMANENTLY?...........ESPECIALLY in this way after uve been an online activist  & ur whole stance was people talking about u for being dark :dead:
This shows self hate and gets there's no way around it
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Oh ok, well I guess she's more similar to Sevyn than Azealia.  Sevyn wears lighter foundation but underneath, her chocolate skin is still protected and thriving.

I think though both subject matters are due to brainwashing in the black community.
Kinky hair is ugly (when it's intact the strongest type of hair) and darker skin is ugly ( when it In fact acts as the strongest protectant against the sun) .

We need to learn to embrace our blackness.

But My issue with Azealia is the fact that she goes on these rants about back girl magic and repping blacks and hating whites; then goes and gets with a white man, and is now bleaching her skin.

30 inch weave IMO is not that big of a deal. It was a natural color against her skin and it's very possible for a black woman to have hair that length if they take care of it like a black woman. It's not that far fetched. It doesn't scream "I hate my hair" to me because it's just become so common to slap a wig on either for its convenience or to protect their own hair at times.

Bleaching your skin is permanent; and her reason being "others do it" just won't suffice for me. I'm not clapping. She clearly hates herself and cares what others think.

not too much on young

Honestly,  a woman's hair is like an accessory tbh. Certain styles look better than others for certain looks imo. U change it to fit the situation.  Trying to equate a hairstyle with bleaching ur skin to be lighter is fckn nonsense :dead:
I could maybe even see it if there was discoloration or some kinda skin issues.  This bitch did this shit outta pure self hate tbh. She talked about people bashing her for being dark, well bitch they won. This bitch tries to portray herself as this strong woman. She's weak AF tbh
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Any kinda of foreign chemicals on your hair to alter your pattern; whether it be via perm or relaxer is sooo damaging and kills your hair.

You can get a silk press out and still kill. I dunno why in 2016 we are still perming.
And then have the nerve to wonder why hair growth has been stunted. Sddddd
Makes no fckn sense.

Young

I don't think I'd be side eyeing her as much if she wasn't someone who ranted about being black this and black that and didn't THEN go get with a white man .

Like it's just a huge contradiction.

I can't clap for her as a person anymore at this point...
I'm sorry

bleaching isn't permanent though bvy

Unless someone continuously does it for the rest of their lives.

Once they stop treatments they can actually get darker than they were before.

No different from a Drano perm running its course and needing a consistent tune up to avoid that voyage back to Africa

Not a drano perm sbdbdbdbdbdbdbdd

That just SOUNDS toxic. But yeah I don't agree with perming either.

And I didn't know after treatments you actually go back darker.
That's crazy  :plzstop:

But I dunno with her it sounds like she wants to be considered light skinned. Like I don't wanna just assume the worst in her but I don't see her stopping now. She seems like she did it because she doesn't like being dark.
She's uncomfortable with herself. Hence her boob job and then her telling that 14 year old to get ass implants. Like she promotes conforming to "beauty standards" . Like I can't with that.

RAY7

to top it all off though shes still wrong about everything shes saying
Bey, Rih, Nicki etc definitely get criticized if they look lighter than usual
or for wearing weaves, wigs etc by Black twitter, especially Bey who gets picked apart daily for everything
shes just tryig to make excuses and pass the buck, when she has the issues

We only get one layer of skin and one set of hair follicles. These are the two main things that define us as black people. Any attempts to drastically alter either one is no different in my book.

But that's just me.

!!!
Azealia is a damaged girl but she didn't lie.

Vonc2002

Hair is what defines us a black people :dead:
All black people don't even have the same kinda hair What sense does that make :kii:
