359 Brandy claims the contract she signed with Chameleon Entertainment is like a ball and chain, and she has filed a lawsuit to break the shackles.

The singer has been signed to the record label since 2011 and claims in the lawsuit they promised her hundreds of thousands of dollars in production costs to make her albums. Brandy says that didn't happen after the first album.

Brandy claims the label actually tried to prevent her from recording and releasing new music, which she says put her career in jeopardy.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the record label tried to pressure her into giving up her non-recording avenues of including concerts and Broadway shows.

Brandy's lawyer says in the lawsuit, "Brandy Norwood's story is 'Kesha Redux, but without the sex." As you know, Kesha also referred to her contract as slavery.

Brandy filed a similar lawsuit in L.A. back in March ... the latest lawsuit was filed in NYC.

She wants out of the contract and hundreds of thousands of dollars she claims they owe her for pay or play fees.

LOONA.

So they wanted her to stop doing everything that didn't have to do with being in the studio recording music?

Inject My Lips

How are they gonna stop her from releasing music, but ask for a kick back on her other ventures?  Disgusting.

Sovereign.

so it IS true.

Breyon's pissed that Quee' wanted to focus on acting as well.

on their terms under a shit contract, yes  :dead: why should she record and release an album that she'll end up unhappy with just to say she did it?  If she isn't putting out a GREAT album that she's capable of (with her controlling the sound) then I'd rather her continue to play hardball until they give her that damn money

They wanted a piece of EVERYTHING. this has nothing to do with her focusing on acting

she had moved on from that and was focused and excited about music 100% (according to her at the beginning of the year)

Breyon just happened to allegedly throw a wrench in those plans
