Been questioning this myself lately
i always question this
They instilled in us Christianity and the belief in God to make us think that church and prayer would place us in heaven where would essentially be free.. And also to keep us collectively obedient .. A "turn the other cheek" mess..

It's scary
I have such a relationship with God but I battle with this so much because it was taught to me by the white man!

They taught me this to control our minds and behavior
This higher being was pressured to give us something to look forward to.. After life.. A "better life".. All along knowing that what they were doing was wrong

ugh !!!!

Real, the crusades, witch hunts, slavery .... all connected to Christianity

So many what ifs... a religion with an all knowing white God

And when we try to piece it together and say ...
Wai, you told us he should have Wooly hair?
:hmph:

It's all ignored, no statement issued from any church. Racism in the church exists

And on top of all that, I just started thinking about WHY I'm a Christian. It was never a conscious choice. I was pretty much just born into it. If I was born into a different family, I might have been something totally different. I just don't know man. I still have my beliefs, but I've been exploring others as well to see what I connect to at heart.

Yeah that's the thing. When this is something you've believed and practiced all your life, it feels very weird, and almost wrong, to question it. But I don't wanna blindly follow anything anymore. I'll always believe in God, but I don't know if I'll subscribe to any religion.

I've been reading alot on Buddhism and I like alot of the principles

Tarig do you believe their is a higher consciousness somewhere and we are connected to it?

That our faith and prayers are a show of our mental capacity to tap into the universe and control our destiny?

I wonder what Iggy Banks faith is?

She's right! I was actually thinking about this today with my family on my mother's side. They're so religious and will never question their "god". Like, it's always been that way. :letsmessfag:

The concept of religion is so outdated anyway.

I think alot of black people have been seeing this question alot lately due to the rise in hoteps/woke blacks/militant blacks.

From what I seen many of them go crazy over the thought of it being questioned completely. There are some who have knowledge and can bring up a debate about Africans starting Christianity but the majority of the time I see a bunch of black christians just losing their mind because I don't think they're used to people questioning Christianity as much as people are doing now.
