Christianity first arrived in North Africa, in the 1st or early 2nd century AD. The Christian communities in North Africa were among the earliest in the world. Legend has it that Christianity was brought from Jerusalem to Alexandria on the Egyptian coast by Mark, one of the four evangelists, in 60 AD.

but "oh white ppl! werent Christians in Af'!"

SOMETHING has to drive and motivate you to be good; think good and provide a basis of faith for you to move through life.

It's the gorls who believe in nothing that I worry about.
How the intricate gift of life can be taken forgranted is beyond me

Jesus ain't white but those back who believed in Jesus/Yeshua are who you're talking about. Definitely the savior.

But fast forward to slavery and the religions we have today; it's taken a form of its own.

ray they used tha bible to justify slavery  :omgwatshappening:

Ephesians 6:5:Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Colossians 3:22:Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Titus 2:9:Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,

You can believe in your actions, your talent or your overall aspirations.
Why does it have to be some mysterious powerful being motivating you.

Aside from the heinous historic context of indoctrinated religion, recognizing that most people are literally conditioned to believe in most of it, and that it still serves as one of the primary divisive factors in humanity today, I completely understand anyone having doubts.

It's always so interesting to me when people bring up prayer as a means of resolving/accepting terrible acts. As if men, women, and children all over the world were not praying or had faith when someone took their lives. I mean people were killed at religious sites. Their god didnt protect them. Never has.

I didn't say you shouldn't believe in yourself.

But you didn't bring yourself here nor did you create the universe.
Some "mysterious power being" had a part in that.
So it's important to not only know who you are but WHOS you are

How on Earth is the world of today worse than the world of the past?  If Slavery, Native American Genocide, Egyptians throwing those babies off cliffs, Hitler gasing the Jews, etc, didn't signfy the end of times what the hell signifies the end today?
