that is the most asinine logic if you get so much as ONE cert in 2016, you've seen some form of success. Album sales have dropped all across the board. Not everybody has Samsung holding their fave's hand as they walk across the chart. To say someone is done or didn't have success after gettibg a gold, then platinum single is, well... dumb lol
