I feel the need to make this post because I really feel like I've made a fool of myself. I can admit that. And got very carried away with my own theories on what my family is, down there in North Carolina bored with nothing better to do.

I stepped away from it all, came back to NYC, took a breather , and looked at the DNA that I'd been ignoring the entire time. It kept saying that one of my grandparents are of Puerto Rican or Dominican descent, but I was too busy conjuring up my own grand stories of boat trips from Haiti and mess instead of looking into the shit that was right in front of my face.
And soon as I simply followed the facts that DNA presented, instead of my own conclusions, I immediately found paperwork to strongly support my DNA results, my maternal relatives indeed traveled between America and Puerto Rico. My grandmother is of Puerto Rican descent.
