Now listening to it, "Single Ladies" beat is so weird.

Idk what y'all mean with this "risk".
The production on Single Ladies is similar to Get Me Bodied. It has that Beyonc? sound. Perfect song for her tbh
its church drums over some video games sounds

that was not beys sound :kii: :kii: :kii:

those live instrumentation was  more her sound

deja vu
crazy in love

The repetitive claps and sound effects sprinkled here and there isnt foreign to Bey. Get Me Bodied, Video Phone, Check On It, etc all give this and as far as live instrumentation, the synths in Single Ladies chorus certainly give big brass just in a different form.

its a risk because its not a common sound. If any other girl of the industry would use this production as first single, it would be a risk. But Beyonce has the right team of producers/writers so they made it work making it a HUGE hit that became kind of iconic, since almost everyone knows more or less the dance moves. it had that big of an impact.
I still don't see how an uptempo R&B song is a risk for Beyonc? :dead:
If anything, If I Were A Boy was a risk. Not many people were here for that song when it came out. Ppl wanted to DANCE. That's why they released SL simultaneously.

Rihgt. Especially when everyone said SIL sounded like Get Me Bodied when it first came out. An the subject matter was very typical for Bey/DC3.

She never had a sound. R&B one album, Go-Go the next, Spanish (literally) the next, then an album sprinkled with Pop and Adult Contem', so yea you're not gonna argue about something not being beyonces sound because she never really stuck to one. The closest thing to a Beyonce sound is melodic fast singing.
