No one is denying his classic hits. We just don't think he's an icon. I just think he's one of those artist that knew how to stay relevant and afloat
boy stop trying to argue I'm not referring to you
LaCon, Iman, Jayden etc know who I'm talking about

Why are you so aggressive? Ain't nobody trying to argue with your ass :uhh: Be more specific next time.

I don't. There's nothing really iconic about him to me.

Sure he had a nice run, but I don't really see anyone trying to emulate anything he does.

He hasn't really left a mark.

Ageeed hes a vet in the game and thats it

Other artists come have come out the gate shitting on his catalouge

Hes s voice with a body

Not even a signature look style or dance for him

Where his peers (Justin, Beyonce,) and in the 90's (Brandy, Aaliyah) switched it up with every album, they had a bigger new sound, new image, new choreography, new visuals,...Usher stayed stagnant and basic.
Usher hasn't done ANYTHING groundbreaking musically or visually in his career, his biggest sound was the crunk movement and that was out a whole 2 years before "Yeah" came out and died a year after, I mean if you call singing over a crunk beat instead of rapping over it innovative and the A Town stomp iconic.... I dunno what to tell ya  :dead:
In 5 years from now we'll be talking about how artists contributed to the game, what risks they took, which albums were ahead of the curve, Usher wont be in that conversation

Usher would definitely be in the conversation of what artists brought to the game and ESPECIALLY what albums were ahead of the curve. No one mentioned in that paragraph has a bigger album than Confessions. That album basically put the B Cox sound on the map, and became the template which young male R&B artist used to base their own careers off of. Not only that but Usher brought Rico Love into the game first by signing him as a rapper then telling him to be a songwriter
He ended up writing for Bey, Kelly, BRANDY Diddy Dirty Money etc.
As the receipts in this thread show all the young male artists cite him as an influence due to his vocals, performance skills and dancing, and being one of the most successful R&B artists ever
