I'm so happy for Brandy! This is awesome, well-deserved and LONG overdue.

A few thoughts:

• If this year's Lady of Soul Award segment follows last year's format then I doubt that anyone will be tributing her (i.e. singing her songs).
  
• 
  Jill's segment included an introduction followed by clips from her friends and peers praising her talent, followed by a live performance by Jill Scott herself.
  
• 
  I'd actually prefer this given that no one sings Brandy's songs better than she can and she could benefit positively for having some more amazing TELEVISED live performances.
  
• Earlier someone mentioned that Brandy fans should be hearing more from Brandy come November. I'm assuming this is what they were referring to - and perhaps there are other things in the works as well
  

Nonetheless, I'm excited for what's to come.
