I cannot say I've directly experienced racism either. But I've learned to simply keep my mouth shut if I hear someone expressing how they feel about the systems that are in place, etc. I'm a lot less quick to write people off.

Going down south and seeing the tension and anger down there really made me begin asking questions about this stuff. I never saw anything like it. Like, why is everyone so fucking MAD down here at white people?

But I never had to live in a slave holding state until then. Totally different experience.
