Father dies and the kids take over his farm. I wasn't interested at first, but the shit is amazing!

how does this mess sound even remotely interesting

Lol It doesn't sound interesting when you say it's about these siblings taking over they're dad's farm.  It's not really about that as much as the drama in their lives.

The oldest sis is the wife of an NBA player.  She thought she had a wonderful marriage, but of course he cheats on her.  He even got caught up in a rape charge.

The middle sibling is kinda all out there.  She's running a weed business out of her home. She's having a 10 year affair with a married white man, on one hand. Then she 's having a lesbian relationship on the other hand.  She's an activist for over policing of black male youth.  And she's into voodoo.

The youngest just got out of jail and is trying to live a better life for his little boy.  But he has a crackhead babymom that keeps coming into the picture, played by Beyonc?'s step sister.

It airs on Oprah's channel and it's a Ava DuVernay production and will have an 10 episode run. I personally like the show, but it's falling a little flat in some areas, like the lack of REAL story for Nova's character, Ralph Angel is the star of the show in my book. I have to agree that the directing and cinematography is top notch, and it's very rare to see a black show look so gorgeous. I understand there just laying the groundwork for better stories on a very character driven show, i would let the craziness of Hollywood's ex carry them into REAL soap opera material and make it must watch TV!

I think of all three of these shows as i watch every week.

I can see the SFU/Brothers & Sisters similarities for sure!

I agree about Nova, I thought her dating the White guy was gonna be a bigger storyline, especially with him being a cop. So far Charlie and Ralph have been more interesting.

The ratings are dropping? Yea, i don't know how true that is. Imma have to say no but lemme check.
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Vonc2002

And yea, the show didn't seem interesting to me before i watched it. I honestly didn't even know WHAT tf it was about. I was just gonna support it because it was black. FF a few months and its my favorite black show and definitely the best show on OWN

Opposites Attract.

The ratings suck. I decided not to watch because even though it was renewed it could still be canceled. I hate investing in a show and it ends.

the 8th episode came on tonight. Just watch it. I swear I wasn't that interested. I was going to watch it anyway for Rutina Wesley (Tara from True Blood), but the first episode feels like a season finale! I have cried so much! The acting, directing, cinematography etc...so fucking good!
wait Tara in there? That's my BITCH.

ebfiadvsj I kept it cute. That's really all I knew about it before I watched it lol. And Nova is the oldest, not Charley.

Oh ok.  I probably thought Charley was the oldest 'cause she acts like the oldest.

FINE.
