It's a hard life for Donald Trump.

According to the New York Times, Trump and his advisers discussed how many nights he will spend each week in the White House—and he told them that he'd prefer to "do what he is used to, which is spending time in New York when he can."

Trump made a notable effort to stay in Trump Tower throughout the campaign, often flying several hours at night just so he could wake up in his own bed. Now, Trump's advisers say that he's "coming to grips" with upcoming major life changes after being "shocked" when he won the election. They hope that he will stay in the White House more often once he becomes used to the transition, but for now, he's pretty much gonna avoid it, much like he'll probably avoid the not-so-glamorous responsibilities of actually being president.

Additionally, the Times reports that Trump wants to hold on to the familiars of his campaign—namely, having big rallies where people can shout his name and make him feel all fuzzy. Why? Because he "likes the instant gratification and adulation that the cheering crowds provide."
