It looks like those fanmade covers on SpillItNow.com. Kinda cool looking, but still has that fanmade look.
I'm sure she hired a fan or someone who's not experienced with album art direction. The contrast is too much and the background looks kinda cheap.
dd Maybe I'm just too nitpicky, but all the pics SLAYED and this is what we get?

I could literally create a better album cover in 20 seconds. 
She was better off just going with the Black/White theme like in the Tour book photos.

It slays but not official. The reason why I would use is because she had that pose of defeat with The Velvet Rope and her insecurities made her face down. This is basically the opposite, a secure woman, and shows her vulnerability at the same time. I prefer that tour pic with the paint though, we'll see soon enough...

The point of the cover was just to be her name since it was Self-Titled.
and the packaging wasn't cheap. There was actually a theme.

The bottom line is that this entire era is so thrown at the wall.
From the cheap tour, the outfit, and now the album cover.
If she wasn't going to take this serious, sis could've stayed in Dubai
