Police have responded to a reported shooting at Ohio State University. The Columbus Dispatch reports that nine people were transported to hospital and that a suspect was killed. University police tweeted about 10 a.m. to ?run, hide, fight??a common mantra printed on safety pamphlets for evading an active shooter. Nearly 60,000 students are currently enrolled at the university. Police were still advising students to shelter in place as of 11 a.m. Further details were not yet available.

Students at Ohio State University returned back to classes today after a Thanksgiving break to be met with a nightmare.

Students were urged to "run, hide, fight" after reports of an active shooter on campus were released via OSU's campus police Twitter account.

Details are still slim but it has just been reported that a suspect has been pronounced dead and the school's lockdown has been lifted. Amongst the dead, CNN also reported that eight people have suffered injuries with one victim in critical condition.

"My roommate and I heard about three or four gunshots from across the street, and soon after we heard a bunch of police and ambulances pull up across the street," Sophomore Wyatt Crosher told CNN.
