I mean
her solo career has eclipsed everything all the 90s girls have ever done
maybe they needed to join groups too

Wait Ray! Let's really dig into it.

It's unconditional, these days you know....

Out of all the mess I will say that Matthew picked some of the best girls minus LaTav' to be apart of Queen's story. I think DC is the only group in history where every girl is relevant and a success in something.
!!!
everyone played a part tbh

I can't imagine Bey starting out without DC in 1997-98.

If she debuted with CIL in 2002 however, then yeah.

I mean Bey is the LEAD singer of the group
and the songs were getting airplay in the 90s right along with Brandy Aaliyah Mo etc
Tbh she was singing a lot of the harmonies on the records too, so...
What did the group really do for her?
so why didn't she go solo of she didn't need 'em

XXX.

20 years, 20 Grammys & 20 YO's sales later, I don't even think it really matters.

I can't imagine solo Beyonce coming out in the 90's and slaying amongst Brandy, Aaliyah and Monica
she has IT but back then in DC they are were on almost on equal footing
she polished and strengthened whatever she had with time
and it's no secret she had the most camera time, more leads, better outfits ect
they were prepping for her stardom and it worked :dead:
I don't see the shade in that

DC was an obvious learning experience for Bey. At the beginning, she was clumsy and unpolished compared to the trinity.

Mathew could have easily made her solo but he saw value in putting her in DC first.

Young

Not taking anything from Queen Bey.

She definitely started off talented and slaying.
I think she needed the group though at the time to still develop and grow individually.

I think her drive is what propelled her to a totally different level.
She's like one of the hardest working people PERIOD.
I believe that's also what kept her at the level she was at.

That and DC's sound is very different from Bey solo
She reinvented herself.
