I look out for a couple of homeless guys near my office and give them whatever spare change/cash I have or get them some food if I don't have money on me. This morning, some random lady saw me give one of them a dollar and tried to shame me for it. After telling her to mind her business and to move right on along, the homeless guy said he felt bad.

Do any of you give homeless people money/food? If so, has anyone every tried to talk you out of it?

Every now and then but I don't make a habit out of it. I mostly use my debit card so I don't really carry cash on me anyway.

Midtown Manhattan is a mess. I can't even go into 7/11 for lunch without some homeless guy in my FACE

i feel bad cuz i wanna give sometimes, but at times I don't have cash on me. i do everything by card. i know they be thinking I'm lying when i say have nothing.

In NYC they are EVERYWHERE! You have to be super selective, otherwise a crowd of homeless people might congregate around you asking for coins, food, clothes, etc.  And shelters are so overcrowded there. It's so sad.

Only if they have some physical ailment. Blind or no feet. Like a couple of them in my city. But that's Jamaica. There's this old blind man that plays instruments. I donate a little when I see him. I aint giving my money to an abled nigga.
