Where do you stand? And are you fine with what you have reached so far? Any more goals?

So me personally, I have a Bachelor's in English literature and linguistics as a major and communication and media science as a minor and I am on the verge of finishing my second in Spanish/French/Italian literature and linguistics and Oriental/Middle Eastern studies. I speak four languages on an academic level and two more on basic casual level... So I was pretty content with starting a job and later adding a Master's mess by age 26/27 and then maybe write a Doctor's mess when I am in my early 30's...

I am getting a cool job at a media company this summer and I was pretty proud and content, because I had no sponsor mess.

But obviously during Christmas and because of a recent class reunion I have been reevaluating my career and had to explain my degree a lot... "Oh so you study Spanish books? Oh umm cute";  hearing about how some of my class mates have Master's in Psychology, getting their PhD in Medicine and Surgery, Law, Computer Science...

And it made me think, dang did I spend the last four years studying something trivial and useless, am I not challenging myself properly? I want to do well for my family back in the motherland, but I also don't wanna sit behind no damn desk just so I can sound fancy in small talk, but then it is something you could wear with pride, having finished Law or Math or something...

Well idk, now I am contemplating doing something in the science field, when before I felt pretty blessed and content with my path...

I am applying for my Master's at the moment. I want to do political sciences or something African to be more exotic. And then get my Doctor title mess.

I am just worried I do it for the prestige and not for the actual qualification and challenge or knowledge.

Is it stupid to study Medicine or Computer Science out of spite or vanity? Am thinking of adding another mess just for bragging rights...

Language is a beatiful thing. It can be a gateway to other beautiful things. You didn't waste your time, you followed your fate's path. Could you really see your life being enriched spending four years studying and creating algorithms?

Honestly it sounds like CANCER already lol

But I would be so proud of myself that I had been able to take something, that was not naturally easy for me. Like I went out of my comfort zone and challenged myself?

I usually do, what I am talented in anyways and what comes easy. Always finding some loopholes and some way to make it fun. When in life you should also learn to do the dirty work, no?

Yep, last year. Trying to knock this last goal out before I become too content with life.

Can I ask what you studied?

Honestly yes and no. I'm on my second degree and I'm very proud of that but I don't feel as if I'll use them at all. I'm in the military so I've been in school just because it's free and I felt it would be a waste not to take advantage of it but when I get out in 2 years, I'll be going to design school for 4 years, chasing a 3rd degree, the one that I will actually use.
