she garnered numerous hits! considerably the best dancer of her era.

Bran, Li, and Mo always seemed to garner profound commercial success whilst My' went Platinum with cute features here and there and was a fav at MTV but always seemed to fall short. The talent was there, the look and all of the potential.

what happened? I've recently got into her career and discography.

I feel like some exec may have tried to take advantage of her and she wouldn't comply ..
And they sorta black balled her

I thought about this for years.   :plzstop:  I've always liked Mya and wondered why sis always got lost in the shuffle,

One, she came out in '98, too late to really be part of the Li, Bran, Mo group.  She didn't have the homegrown young teen fanbase they did since she came out at 18.  It isolated her.

Two, she could never maintain momentum after big singles.  She'd have like one or two, and then disappear.  The nineties and early 2000s were all about multi-single eras.  She didn't have a memorable string of singles or truly classic albums.  Sometimes it wasn't her fault.  I put a lot on her labels. What was the single that followed Case of the Ex?  Why did Fallen flop?  :guys:

Three, she didn't market herself personality-wise.  She's always seemed aloof.  Even in the era of TRL, reality shows, Cribs, Making the Video, etc. I can't remember her making her presence known.

Nevertheless, she won Grammys, made hit singles and collabs, performed for MJ, acted, did DWtS, and she's still recording and cute.  Can't win em all lol. :letsmessfag:

Her dumb ass took too long after moulin rouge. If she had followed p!nk's lead and dropped shortly after LM she'd probably still be around.

I was watching her premiere 'Free' video on TRL in 2001 and sis was so damn shy almost like now.  :plzstop: I think people mistake her shyness for being aloof or an Ice Queen.
