Being MORE THAN A WOMAN was the whole theme of her last album.   

Good lyrics + sexy and sassy + great production + catchy hook + good video = classic.


Shoulda been the first single, TBH.  And that's no shade on WNAR.  But MTAW was like an upgrade Try Again, and would have gotten her that #1 spot.

Try again was corny

It is. I never really listen to it. Not a bad song but..yeah.
I feel like it's the song that the white people bring up and associate it with her so much because it was her crossover #1 but if you were really down and knew what's tea u know she had other songs that just trump her.

Yeah it was a cute pop mess for nyeh nyeh nyeh around the house, but sis could do that in her sleep.  The video and choreo uplifts its legacy.

OAIM, too.  Legendary song but it's rather simplistic and juvenile lyrically.  Something a teen would sing.  Missy did better on IC4U.  The beat uplifts this one.


MTAW and WNAR are grown woman songs.   I guess that's why the Red album is my fav.

ok let's cut to the chase because Im the fuck disgusted. We cant talk about videos saving songs when that absolutely the case with WNAR. The ONLY thing that saves her is the alien harmonies and her ad libs tbh. You can't call Try corny then praise "dont get it twisted! Dont misuse it!" Problem! Resolve it! Causes!. New bones in your closet!

you cant be a LI and not appreciate and GET that the simplicity of melody in both Try AND OIAM is what juxtaposes it against the zigzag bass in Try Again or the skittering pre-trap mess in OIAM.
