It's a shame that Missy spent 10 weeks @ #2 with "WORK IT"
And didn't get credit by Billboard for helping Katy slay to #1 with "LAST FRIDAY NIGHT"

i never understood that.. has billboard ever explained that?

there are plenty times when a remix is put out with a rapper on it and it counts for both

They said the "remix" version sold less than the original version that week it went to #1
:uhh:
But the sales weren't far off from each other -- original and remix

Which is bullshit
Cause Rihanna's "S&M" original sold the same amount as her remix with Britney Spears when it went to #1 -- and Britney was credited.

Not Remy getting certified hit records in a span of 12 years. Remy's stats are kinda iconics lol.

Hot 100 #1, longevity. New solo hit in 2017.

Was she though? It is funny that Kanye is credited on ET, but I think there is a video of the song with Missy, and it was out a long time as a solo mess.

Well, there's many articles on it.
They feel like Missy came in "too late", since the song was a solo success for months before her remix.
And the sales were less than the original... well I bought the remix version of the song -- and however little the sales were, it helped Katy get to #1 and match MJ's record.
As a matter of fact, Katy sat at #2 for 5 weeks before deciding to remix her song in order to get to #1

I'm not blaming Katy tho -- since it was Billboard's doing
Katy brought Missy out during Super Bowl, so there's respect there
