i have every right to be disappointed or feel that my fave isn't really doing music anymore..
i don't care what she does outside of music.. but i will never be a fan of those things.. EVER..
never loved Moesha.. never cared about some broadway.. and i most certainly don't love this social media maven she's become..
im not accepting this label budget narrative because we have watched other artist invest in themselves and be very successful with it..
hell she did that with begging and thats what i expect more of..

the artists we see investing in their mess are newer and younger. at the most, from the 00's era.

Toni had the same mentality when it came down to that braxton album
she just couldn't grasp the concept of actually doing an entire album without major label backing and funding

i doubt you'd see monica somewhere paying for her video shoots and recording time
these girls are just cut from a different cloth. the dated 90's cloth (in some ways)

she went from rowdy to arista to j to rca
and 10 song caps
everytime the beat drops
leaked albums
and a reality show geared to get ppul interested in her
because she "had to show the label why they signed her"
so shes been thru it as well

J records changed its name from Arista.. and all artist under that Arista imprint because J records artist.. then Sony bought J records and put it under the rca umbrella

So again she's had the same deal for 20+.. no matter what name the label transitioned to..

After (13 + a bonus disc)

Standing (10 with 3 different versions of the album that included an extra song)
