well I use "they" when I'm referring to whites and other races.

but I get what you mean, it is a slight discomfort when I see a white person use the word. probably because the word "they" is often followed by derogatory comments when its coming out of european lips.

Well we're all still gay and black at the end of the day, but I do believe there still are subgroups of people which we can identify with a little more. Kind of like a church -- yes all may be of Baptist faith inside of the church, but there may be some who identify with religiously regressive beliefs and principles, whereas others may cling to more modernized conceptions. As a result, controversy and debate are likely to arise. Doesn't mean they're not all of the same faith, in the same church under the same roof, it just means that they all have different interpretations of what the faith is, or how it should be represented and/or conveyed.
