Everything I know from my grandmother has been confirmed so far consistently through a few tests. I've done AncestryDNA, GEDMatch and FamilyTreeDNA. Mainly the Native American mess. Based on my research, the detectable amount in my blood basically means my maternal great great grandparent was full blooded, or dangerously close to it. Which makes sense. Mu grandmother never claimed her mother was full blooded. She said she was definitely of Native descent, from a Native family.

The European mess is some slave rape mess. And not something I will not be claiming , at all.

I still have questions about Africa though. A lot of questions. Now that I've confirmed a few basic things, I think my next stop is 23andme to be honest. I'm obsessed .  I want an in depth African assessment of my DNA.

The good thing is, I was able to simply download my raw, untouched DNA data from AncestryDNA, and simply re-upload it to different sites, which have different databases and standards.

I'd say GEDMatch is definitely the most accurate, though. In terms of PINPOINTING numbers. It gives you more of a percentage. But overall, I can't any of them were way off. For instance: AncestryDNA gives a range -- 1-2% NA blood, then GEDMatch gave an actual percentage 1.48%, whereas FTDNA rounded it off kinda -- 1% . So it all makes perfect sense. But Ancestry kicked both their asses when it came to pinpointing the African regions I am from. I felt like I really got a sense of it all I'm still going to 23andme though for my full cup of African tea. I could give a fuck about the European numbers.  those genes are weak as hell in me anyway lolz.

results from Ances'DNA took 4 weeks. its worth it, once u send ur DNA in. it takes longest with them because they actually break ur saliva down into numbers. but once thats done, ur given a file and can use that at other places as well.
