I felt like the whole plot was squeezed into 2 hours
Like why him? How did he come to capture these annimals? What's his back story?
I know there are sequels coming but they could have spent this first movie just exploring the whole thing and setting it up properly, leave you wanting more
But I guess because this is off the back of the HP franchise, a lot of the terms, references should already be familiar.

I see what you're saying though. Why Newt? we know why Harry was the star of the story, I mean, it was named after him. but J. K. Rowling has to work to make the audience empathize with Newt and eventually start liking and rooting for him. As a viewer, I feel a little distant from him.

Yh he's slaying the role tbh, he pulling off the 'awkard' thing really well.
I'm just not engaged yet.
But just know the others will get better
