Whoppi is a mess. But she missed the mark in regards to realizing what makes cultural appropriation the most hurtful for us.

And that's people running around acting Black without sharing in the Black experience when the shit hits the fan.

Take Native Americans for instance. Was nice to know who my Native ancestors were generations back, but you won't find me somewhere with a chief's headdress and singing tribal songs. I celebrated it a bit and kept it moving. When you have RESPECT for a group of people you conduct yourself in that manner.

You don't steal what's NOT yours.

It's OK to love a culture and even celebrate it, but when you walk around trying to BE IT in real life? Do you know the reason why we use Ebonics? Or eat gizzards? Or glorify violence and drugs? You don't know and you don't care. You just think something is cute and do a little parody mess owt.
