Ciara is an artist and it shows in her music videos and her performances. It's not up for debate.
Music is subjective...maybe she really likes the music she records.
The one I don't agree with is nicki...she will do anything for a hit and is the number 1 trendhopper. She hasn't done anything sincere since her last mixtape.
What shows wether you're an artist or not to me is the direction you go in after you under perform.
I.E. p!nk losing her edge after try this flopped and than remade the I'm not dead album over and over since which are all in the vain of misunderstood.
I.E. Kelly Clarkson letting Clive bully her into making cheesy forgettable pop mess after My December flopped.
i see what you're saying. While I respect an artist that has momentum trying to recapture their main audience, the music should be of a certain quality always. Nicki doesn't seem lazy in her approach of writing music and she seems to enjoy performing.
She's passionate and I live for that
To me Nicki is more consumed with being on the charts then making music / being an artist.
She has potential and like the top 3 flows out from the active rappers and she made 3 flawless mixtapes.
I just wish I could say I love a Nicki album from start to finish.
Nicki also cares too much what people think. Like how she canceled Roman in Moscow. If you can't stand behind your mess why even record it.
I'm torn in between ppl trying something different (that's a trendhop ie redone, David guetta, etc ) or people recording the same album over and over again ie the Monica's. I can't say which 1 is worse to me.
And you can start of as an amazing artist and decline : p!nk, Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Sia (especially her)
