I definitely think Ci's signature sound are songs like Goodies (That's Right, Gimme Dat, Got Me Good, I'm Out, Work, Sweat) Oh (High Price, Ride) and Promise (Never Ever, I Bet, Sorry, Body Party). 2008 fucked her up though once the label started making her copy the songs Chris Brown and Usher made #1 at the time (Go Girl and Never Ever)

I agree with this, but Ciara kinda goes up for that usher/cb techno shit the label supposedly "made" her record. She was saying FR was her favorite album for a while and i think recently she said jackie is her favorite album.

that's not true at all

While I don't like some of the songs she recorded during Fantasy Ride (Go Girl being one), the LABEL ultimately decides what singles are gonna get released. Even if the artist doesn't think it's their best work, like how Ciara CLEARLY felt.

You had Bey releasing "Single Ladies" and then you had Rih dropping "Rated R". I think Ciara's team panicked.

She shoulda just stuck to her normal guns to go up against them in 08 and she would have been fine.

I think if Ci had released a different album in place of FR, her career would be so much different.
