Katy's been appropriating our culture ssss
before Miley even thought of the idea.

Why are Black people JUST catching onto the fact that these white bitches are vultures? ssss

Oh no! Miley didn't really love us ?! :( Fuck u! :fuming:
Katy gorl why u using Black mess NOW huh?!

But let's roll the tapes..

sdsdsdsddssd

I been clocked her vulture ways but I use her music.
but that's what forming culture is about. Socially, culture has always been a mixture of experiences that all types of people have gone through. There is no Mexican that lives a life solely acknowledging Spanish culture; everyone takes bits and pieces from everyone else.

Besides, are we really trying to attribute grills and mess to black culture?  :dead: to me, that's not black culture. That's hoodrat, thug culture and the contributors to that come in many races.

But yeah

Society would be nowhere and we'd be even more segregated than we are now if we just stuck ourselves in the box of what our individual culture represents. But that's not to say cultural appropriation isn't real; see Justin Bieber. Or Taylor's "Shake it Off" video with the black girls twerking scene. But Katy? To me, she's just playing a character, like she's been doing from the start

FlowerBomb

I can't wait till this album flops so this bitch can stop fake stanning this girl like the way she did nicki :dead:

I didn't even catch it because it was like the 5th single from that era and she's Katy Perry. I RARELY keep up with white artists that long, JoJo is the exception. I used her during TD era, and used Roar and Dark Horse then checked out.

It may not be appropriating, but it is displaying an objective image that is associated with Black/African women.

it's part of hip hop culture bby sis.
which is inherently Black.

Yes there are many races doing it, but you cannot say that whites were the first ones cheesing with a mouth full of grill. It's not to say every Black person is walking around like that, but these are products of our imagination and creativity.
I'll never not acknowledge that black people were the first to start wearing grills. I'm just saying, I won't feel slighted if a Katy or a Chad is walking down the street rocking one.

But I honestly I don't think that specific things that we've created should only be exclusive to us. Not unless it's intellectual properties that another race is tryna pass off as their own creation. I surely will have a problem with that
