The problem is Katy is a singer/songwriter at heart.  She sold her soul to create this fake image with the label and become this cheesy pop star that makes songs that appeal to teens.  I think it's hard for her to really figure out her next move when her back is against the wall, because she knows she can't do it with talent.  It will have to be some type of stunt or something image-based.  Because that's really all she has.

She can't give you an amazing vocal onstage or punch through some sickening routine.  So, instead she's hiding under tables, calling up drag queens & tryna be hood with the Migos.

It reminds me of Janet.  I don't think she has any hits that Jimmy & Terry haven't produced.

Katy has one big single outside of Dr. Luke, though.  "Firework".  Stargate did that one.  I want to say that a bitch who can write can maybe pull herself out of this rut.  But another big issue is the fact that she is trying to have a "voice".  Katy's thing was being bland, generic & inoffensive.   Making these political records, campaigning for Hillary, turning into Miley 2.0 for "Bon Appetite"... it's off brand.

She needs to go back to making mindless pop paired with a Teen Choice image.
