So what was the dispute with the label about?

They were forcing her to record some records that she had no involvement in whatsoever.

When she was gaining steam with all her mixtape mess she said major labels approached her but she went with RCA because they were willing to give her freedom and creative control.

It didn't really last long and now she's over it. She was doing alot of stuff on her own because they were holding her budget hostage until she gave in.

The industry already has a small space for female artists of color, and it doesn't help that niggers feed into it by pitting ever girl against Bey and Rih which was kinda her main point but everyone skipped over that.

Rih did an image overhaul and started working with hitmakers, there was no real ~star quality or talent there.

And if she can thrive with no discernible talent to her name, I don't see why Tinashe can't.
