I mean, no shade, are we supposed to throw a parade because this fat bitch is stating the obvious?

fedswatchin

Maybe it's not so obvious to some

Honestly it makes no sense to penalize people for not knowing how you perceive the world. There are some people that truly don't know or understand others' hardships. We've all been there, I'm sure

lol @ that Beyonc?/Taylor Swift comparison

There's absolutely nothing feminist about Beyonc?, Nicki, Taylor or any other pop star.

and whenever there is a thread or post made about race, why do you always post my name? :dead:
When did I ever say on here I was scared or hated white people?

I just couldn't ever live my life afraid of white people like some of y'all. I've got white friends, spaniard friends, the works!
not the works sdndsd is it a pizza

I befriend white people as well.

Really don't believe in going around hating everyone or avoiding certain races.
But, at the end of the day, if we're all watching TV together and a story about some Black person being gunned down, or someone using racist language in the white house pops up on the screen..only one of us get hurt and angry about that that. And it's not Becky.

That's where we're reminded of our differences.
There are differences. I just can't be blind to that. But I agree, nothing wrong with being nice to everyone.
yeah, IDK

while you have some whites that play blind to the bullshit, there are a lot that recognize the overall human struggle, whatever race or gender you are. It would be wrong to pigeonholed every white person to some racist label just because they were born white. I also can't expect all white people to be sensitive to the plight of brown people and then be automatically offended when I find out they're not. It's not their responsibility.

Imagine if you had a little person for a friend and it's a similar situation of you watching TV and somebody cracks a midget joke. You're not gonna be as hurt by the joke as your friend, but does that mean you need to brush up on the history of little people and surround yourself with a bunch of them to learn what their triggers are? I don't know.
I don't think prejudice is right either. But, it's a part of normal life. We cannot help it. We all do it , in different ways - whether it's because of the way they speak, or dress, and yes, sometimes it's based on skin color.

I was just discussing how I feel more comfortable around Spaniards/Italians, etc. because they're more "off-white" as opposed to stereotypical looking white people (blond hair, blue eyes, etc.). These are things we can't help sometimes. But I realize it's wrong. So I try to fight against it and give everyone a fair chance.

Becky doesn't have to know the in's and out's of slavery for us to be acquaintances, or even friends. But I just don't see myself getting very CLOSE with Becky. I have one best friend and she's a Black woman. We can talk about situations that affect our community and still be on the same page even if we have difference in opinion as to how progress should be made.

It varies from person to person. But that's how I feel.
yep, everybody has had their hand in the prejudice cookie jar. It's crazy how there are so many different groups in life that you can prejudge and how sometimes you didn't even realize you were being slightly prejudice

I understand why any brown person would be cautious around whites though. It's harder for me nowadays than ever before to just be cool with some. I find myself sometimes thinking of slavery or a lynching when I initially see a white person. That image popping into my head is enough to stop me from interacting with them altogether.

But I have to accept that they are humans too. And they're not going anywhere. In fact, most job opportunities or career ventures will involve a slew of them. So as horrible as slavery was and as horrible as the confederate-flag wavers were (and everything they've has evolved into today) a brown person that wants to build something has to find a middle ground with whites. And it's definitely a struggle.

This is just what I presume because whenever there's mention of white people, you seem to be the main one up in arms.

But I'm not the white person defendant :dead: it's just something that I see on average. It's kinda like the running joke for me, "jayden hates whites"

but maybe you don't :ummwhat:

Opposites Attract.

No white person is to be trusted. None. I'm telling yall. You'd be a damn fool to let your guard down around them. I'm convinced every white person has hidden intentions. The things I've seen,,,,,, yeah fuck them all

Meh. Choosing not to interact with someone has no relation to fear (in any form). I've had white classmates, colleagues, shit FAMILY, all my life. I'm mature of enough to be cordial to anyone within reason. Choosing not to befriend them or invite them into my life beyond that is exactly that, a choice.

For me, I work with white people everyday, both my sisters have white boyfriends and their families are in my families home almost every other day :dead:
I don't intentionally avoid white people and it's not that I hate white people, it's just that I'm just not in that environment where I'd meet white people outside of work.
A lot of us on here have used the whole "I hate white people!" thing when some foolishness comes up but still will call out black people when some idiotic stuff pops up  :dead:
