I find it amazing how these things only become an issue when celebrities do something seemingly questionable. It starts with all of us. If you're not promoting or, at the very least defending or understanding this, or at the BARE minimum, making an effort not to make disparaging comments about other Black people regarding their Blackness, where's the room to book Nicki?

I was just tryna make everyone understand that I believe a lot of Black women are trying to "fake it until you make it" when it comes to their self pride. Telling themselves -- I love my skin. I love my natural hair, I'm beautiful just the way I am. They HAVE to because they are literally fighting generationally passed beliefs and influences that have been CARVED into their psyches.

Many of them may not have to really fight because they've always been genuinely OK and proud with themselves. But many are. I totally get the need for BGM. That was my stance.
