Imo, I think fans praise Afro so universally cuz it's easier to determine the best tracks, whereas with FM, there's more of a debate cuz I think it's more solid throughout.

Afro is just the better album. Full moon came out and critics didn't like it VS when Afro came out and she was getting her best reviews. The album is long, the production is an atrocity, and it began the 2 single album thing.  The album is the PITS

Don't agree. FM was image vs content. I don't think the critics were ready for Brandy to tackle more mature feelings on that album, which is why they didn't get it at the time.
FM is also more cohesive imo and the transitions flow extremely well. I think FM also had the advantage of having Rodney helm the production, it really showed in the sound, which edges afro out imo.
