I was watching a documentary on colorism and hair textureism in our community, and of course the great Madam CJ Walker was mentioned. Of course I tipped my hat for her slaying the scene and becoming the first black female millionaire, but a part of me couldn't help but to give her a slight a as well. Like, you self hating bitch, you started this mess.

I know it's not right to think that way and of course her state of mind wasn't even her own fault. But I'm being honest. She profited off of it by inventing something which is damaging to our hair. I think that's what rubs me the wrong way.
