no one said anything about an agenda or trying to look like white men btw

don't know what glock is talking about
I think when you said Eurocentric standards by feeling the need to constantly keep our hair "neat"
It could read as neat=white, because the reverse would be unkempt=black.
I know i read it like that

yummy

I don't think black men getting a fresh cut every now and then is keepping to European standards...I think it's because we want to look..good  :udontlookok:

Examine why getting a fresh cut is the only thing most people consider looking good and get back to me, babe.

its pretty damn simple.  :dead:

like... :dead:

J Cole was getting dragged recently for his scruffy look at a basketball game. I don't think anyone would've said shit if he showed up with a fade and some deep waves. A lot of our reaction to what's considered "presentable" or attractive is something we're taught. I think most people don't realize it because they've gotten so used to that train of thought.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and there isn't anything wrong with a fresh cut out and a wave mess. Just be honest with yourself.

You hate looking at your hair and people let theirs just go makes you uncomfortable.

edit: strictly for those that insist other people cut their hair. Not everyone that cuts their hair hates their mess.
Low messes suit some people.

You're implying the only way to look kept is to make sure you cant see a single nap, coil or strand. You can get a fade mess out but when you start using words to refer to a fade as clean cut and an afro as unprofessional its a problem

yummy
