I wouldn't have a problem with slave movies if we told our own stories and had a lot more historical periods depicted. Black history doesn't begin and end with slavery. I think a lot of white people fetishize those slavery images.

I honestly believe they over exaggerate a lot of the mess. It's so one dimensional and undertonish. I can barely understand how they get away with reproducing that imagery over and over again!
