The reason Justin was forgiven is because CBS asked Justin and Janet to both attend the GRAMMYs, a week later, and apologize.

Janet refused.  Justin did.

It's business.  Period.

You don't go onstage and flash your breast at the biggest and most watched family event of the year.  MTV had a contract to produce the Super Bowl Half Time Show every 3 years, and because of Janet, they lost it.  Clear Channel, CBS & the NFL paid so much money in fines & attorney fees.  She played the wrong hand, and wouldn't cooperate when it was all said and done.

Then, had the audacity to follow it up with an album where she was naked on several men's magazines including KING.  She was such a dummy.

That Britney/Madonna kiss, 5 months prior, really did a number on her.
Janet was BANNED form the Grammys. :uhh:

She was not.  She was asked to attend with Justin and apologize.

And refused.
That's not true. CBS had already had her to apologize and that's there was video of her apologizing..

CHOKE

Shoulda, woulda, coulda

She's a flop now

Jay and Just are performing and I can't wait tbh

She was banned
She had already apologised on television before the Grammys,  she was already scheduled to present the Luther Vandross tribute

She was not allowed to appear if she would not apologize.

Listen, it's work.  CBS and Clear Channel were still the ones in charge of the GRAMMYs.  I mean, it was the same network.

Why would she NOT be banned if she wasn't going to play by their rules?  I think they were absolutely in the right.  Janet pulled a stunt that caused a lot of people their jobs.

She already had a televised apology, I don't think Justin did.
So why wasn't he banned?

On her own!

Not at a CBS/Viacom event.  That's then difference.

She made the choice to say she wouldn't apologize again, and the rest is history.

BAPHOMET.

I can see this being the ending song. With her and Justin dueting the song and Jay doing that little shit he does :loose2when:

then a big BURST of fireworks. simple but not so much at the same time.  :stressed:

That's what I'm saying.  It was a solo apology.  Not at a CBS event!  If she wanted to participate, they wanted another apology.

She refused.

What are you not getting?

Yh she had a televised apology already done for CBS
Justin didn't apologise publicly anywhere but he wasn't blacklisted.

CBS: Apology was requirement for him to appear at Grammys

Sunday, February 8, 2004 Posted: 11:30 PM EST (0430 GMT)

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- A week after he pulled the covering off Janet Jackson's right breast during the Super Bowl halftime show, singer Justin Timberlake apologized again as he accepted the Grammy for best male pop vocal performance.

A statement from CBS said Timberlake's apology was a requirement for his participation in the broadcast. The network said Jackson declined the invitation to appear and apologize.

So, sounds to me like Janet wasn't blacklisted if they wanted her to appear.

And her issuing an immediate apology sounds about right.  It was her show.  She was the headliner.
