If Taylor is his friend it makes sense he was in her video.

He probably should have treaded more carefully when it came to the Beyonce comments and comparisons. Reality is that Taylor is nowhere near talented as Beyonce - period. So it's not really about soda pop or gummy bears or jolly ranchers - it's about knowing when to give a "no comment/next question please" mess and keep it moving...at least if you want to avoid sticky situations like this.
