I dunno if you mean physically or not but someone I know recently told me I was betraying my people working for a large company and that I should embrace black businesses and even make my own

All while they had weave in their head

Im all for loving myself and my skin, but unless I'm sacrificing my dignity or something, I'm never going to be broke for a cause.

I cringe when I see some of my friends on FB raving and ranting about being black all of a sudden

And sorr', I know we're all conditioned to an extent in America but I just can't take it seriously if you're going on about Kim Kardashian being the perfect woman or kii'ing at memes about natural black hair while wearing weave

It's not even about being broke - it's about survival. Another unemployed Black man will do us no good.

I'm all for playing the game to make sure your money is secure. A lot of White people play the same game when they smile up in your face in the office. They do it to make sure they're able to survive - survival cannot be found in someone's HR office.

she opened up a "boutique" that flopped within a year, started saying her friend and family weren't supportive because they didn't support black businesses(aka just her) and ended replying to a comment totally unrelated to the mess one day.

I was gonna read her and tell her her business failed because the clothes are UGLY but I only knew her from college, wasn't worth it

I will say that I think that Black Pride is on the rise again in America. I think it's a great thing. I see more and more of my sisters going natural - on my way home one night weeks and weeks ago, there was a bunch of Black girls that got on the train together. They ALL had natural hair. It made me so emotional. Like, look at my sisters

They were all quite young. I think that's why it really touched me. I don't know why but I feel closer to women when they're natural. I can really see who they are.

And they were just being silly on the train - they were just being themselves. It was nothing for them. I just enjoyed watching them the entire ride. They have no clue what they did for me that night.

I highly doubt that they went home to post pics of Kim Kardashian on their timeline. That's what I call beautiful, confident Black women.

I was happy that people were becomign woke and embracing blackness, but some of these people are just...DUMB.
