I think sometimes we forget that it's actually hurricane season. This is the same time that Katrina hit.

Just a bit alarming that the Hurricanes hitting us are getting stronger.
the global warming girls said hurricanes will begin to become stronger and stronger

:stressed:

Stay safe, boo!

Are you evacuating?  I saw pictures of the people evacuating.  The roads looked crazy.  They said 30,000 people have already left.
not yet

The media is doing too much

I live in Central Florida, hurricanes just Fuck us up with flooding and destroying cars with trees. Floridian homes are better built after Andrew in the 90s

The projections are still uncertain. If it comes straight up the center of Florida I'm gonna leave then. As of right now all we can see is Miami is going to get Fcked up  :stressed:

That was actually my next question.  Is the media overhyping it?  Around this time, the media starts competing for clicks & views on who can report the edgiest hurricane story. nDNDNNnnnnnnNNNNNN

YES.

Those island homes aren't built as sturdy as the ones here. But they are tying to paint that as the image everywhere.

Even in Houston, the place is flooded but the buildings aren't all lying flat

Matthew is HUGE and powerful but it's common knowledge that once a hurricane hits land it starts to die

Last year with Matthew, we just got a bunch of water. No destruction. It wasn't as powerful but they're overdoing it regardless.

But that's not to say people shouldnt evacuate

Im fortunate to be in an area where hurricanes are usually dead by the time they hit

Miami however, should always take hurricanes with extra precaution.
