Yeah.  When Beyonce was in Destiny?s Child.  Dangerously In Love dragged In The Zone back in 2003, and Bee has continuously gotten bigger and outsold her with every subsequent release as Britney declined.

I don't know about more influential but I do agree that Britney is more iconic than Bey.

I don't think any artist will match Britney's peak. She got diamond albums, her performances were always an event and her music videos were groundbreaking.

But luckily, I refuse to debate about it today.  That nostalgia of Britney holding a snake and stripping at the VMAs be having people gassed.

She?s definitely a pop icon that represents the TRL era and Bubble Gum Pop along with *NSYNC and Christina.  Britney was the face of that era.  Her VMA performances are memorable, because it reminds us of being kids watching MTV.

But she also represents lip syncing, being manufactured & being an industry puppet that eventually broke. 

But what do I know?
