the OJ Trial is such a good example....
Robert Kardashian stuck with OJ even though the evidence was what many considered to be smoking guns - the glove, the timeline, . Like, he really believed he was innocent and supported him. No shade but I think Johnny and Shapiro knew the tea.

But OJ was Robert's best friend - he pulled ALL the stops to defend him. Even reactivated his own license just to be able to practice and have his back legally as well.
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/gossip/la-et-mg-et-mg-robert-kardashian-facts-people-v-oj-simpson-20160404-htmlstory.html He honestly believed he was innocent. He clearly WANTED to believe his best friend was not capable. It was only until AFTER the trial that he had second thoughts in 1996.
People protect their loved ones because its natural for you to want to believe the best in them. It's so easy for us to sit here and say "oh! cum was found! lock dat ass up!" But when you're close to someone it's a bit different.
Personally I think her brother could be guilty but again - it's easy for me to say because that's not my kinfolk on trial. LOL I'm just reading from the outside and giving my own verdict.
If my bestie called me right now from jail and said "Hey they say I murdered someone but I didn't do it . Can you help me?" My first instinct isn't to sit and gather facts first - my first instinct is how the hell can I get you out of prison.
QuoteO.J. Simpson never lied to me. He has told me that he did not commit these horrible crimes and I have no reason not to believe him. It was from that perspective that I came to stand by his side during his trial," Kardashian wrote in 1995.
