We really need to stop caring about this
especially the artist, but I guess it?s too much of a tradition
what even happened this year besides Bey?s iconic pregnant performance?

Kim Burrell's execution
:guys:
Queen Burrell is alive and didn?t go to the Shammys

I think it's laughable when the gorls who just released
try and submit their songs/albums for SOTY, AOTY, ROTY categories.

I feel like you're song/album should have been out for at least 3-6 months before it should be considered for such awards

Well it won?t be eligible the next year. Might as well shoot your shot.

Demi and Kesha got a shot.

who cares what u think tho

those deadlines are put in place for a reason so

Submitting into AOTY, ROTY & SOTY is smart.  It's like a default.

You never know what could happen.  At any moment, your song could become a meme, go viral, pop off, etc.

Better to have it submitted than not.  You literally have nothing to lose.

Kesha and Demi have hit songs
that weren't released like 2 weeks ago

I'm referring the to artists that dropped songs in less than a month thinking they'd be taken seriously in those categories

Mel.

I just think it's weird that a song that just came out
can even be considered or submitted for one of those huge categories, it's weird to me

you cant have a "_____ of the year" after 2 weeks. I can't fathom that logic
they should set some sort of rule where the song or album has to have been released in a certain amount of time
to be eligible for a submission

3 months if it's an instant hit
6 months if it's a gradual incline

I just cant take a song/album serious being dubbed "song/album of the year" in 2 weeks time

I mean the Grammys are "supposed" to represent quality and musical excellence, not charts and hits..
