Really? It didn't seem like people cared too much about the Swiss thing imo. Alicia's music changed and that was solely the reason I stopped supporting. I couldn't care less about the Swiss mess

Eh, I think their pretty much back and neck in terms of respect for what they did for female artists. Janet was more respected pre-Nipplegate because she wasn't the one most people would expect to pop her titty out on national television. That kind of stunt was something people always relied on Madonna for, Janet was always at the center of pop culture because of her talent and artistry alone.

Looking at today's female artists, you can def' see the influence both of them (and Mariah) left on the younger generation tho.
