Quoten addition to rules set behind the scenes at Billboard giving advantage to Pop radio and changing the R&B Chart to no longer reflect airplay .... thus eliminating R&B out of the charts which directly impacts award shows which directly impacts visibility which directly impacts sales.

What the fuck  :uhh: this is a mess

And Justin not being in an R&B categories doesn't take away the fact that he appropriates R&B music and the Recording Academy just so happens to place him in the Pop/Mainstream categories because he is a Popular act. :dead:

Do you know his life?
he grew up on R&B music and can sing it, record it and perform is as he pleases
and there?s nothing you can say to stop it from happening

but cry about it.

He's still an appropriator. I wanna see him give credit where it tf DUE, nigga!

He?s credited black artists as his inspirations MANY times, nigga!

It ain't enough to verbally say it. We want reparations, nigga.

Do you agree?

Point out the lie tho

I just happened to be SKIMMING on Tidal and came across Syleena?s album

The first track BOOKED me instantly

This surpremes sound  :plzstop:

It?s crazy how we get no support  :dead: ? So much black talent has been tossed aside

!!!

This is honestly why I can't allow myself to go up for Sam Smith, Adele, etc. It's not their fault, but they get hailed as if they are doing something new or innovative.

They're basically making soul music and profiting while Black artists can't get any support.

She ain't lying!

That "Strip That Down" song featuring Quavo came on the radio this morning.  And I couldn't believe how big that song was on Pop radio.

Chris Brown and others have been making that same song for the last 10 years.

And I can't wait to watch Justin's presumable R&B single be exalted as the best song of the decade.

That song is the most basic mess I've heard outside of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You". Terrible songs, but still perched at the top of the charts with tons of radio support.

Yeah, in certain ways she's right. That's why these labels don't spend much money on black artists who do R&B music because they feel it doesn't take a large investment to reach black audiences.

Non-blacks can make the same kind of music but since it's being aimed at a different, most likely larger audience, tptb will push more.

There's several things that could further affect that like age, gender, etc...
