Her statement is so true but it?s also an issue we have with ourselves. Brandy and Monica are a prime example ...  we as fans get so caught up in she?s better because of this or she?s better because of that, instead of supporting because they are different and both very good af at what they do. We have to take some ownership in our favs demise. Bottom line is, we should support because we are hurting our artist and making it hard for them to win!

Gone with this!

UGH!

Why do we make everything negative a black issue?  Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are white and are publicly feuding as well.  Including their white fans.  That's just music period.  It's competitive.  It's not a race thing.

Same thing Bentley is in here doing.  "Why is Tank singing about sex?"

Like white artists singing R&B music are covering all of these amazing concepts.

I hate when ya'll do this.

Did you watch the video?

YEAH.  I did.

And my point still stands.  We're always pointing the finger at each other like we are somehow responsible for an industry literally stacked against black music.

Do some research on the label merges that happened at the turn of the last decade and how most Urban divisions were cut with Urban staffs completely fired.  Leaving R&B artists on labels with employees who probably had never even heard of them.

Mixed with iHeart and Clear Channel doing business deals that forced many Urban stations into Rhythmic stations or to close altogether.  In addition to rules set behind the scenes at Billboard giving advantage to Pop radio and changing the R&B Chart to no longer reflect airplay .... thus eliminating R&B out of the charts which directly impacts award shows which directly impacts visibility which directly impacts sales.

Black people have been supporting and "doing our part" for years.  That's why Demi Lovato can sell only 20k more than Tamar but still EAT.  Because she has an industry literally backing her 100%.

So, YEAH.

You're wrong about that.

Even though I hate the word, that Hotsaucefagg is nothing but a misinformed COON and you lashed

Wow @ coon!  Y?all are hilarious. Nothing about my statement is wrong. You feel the way you do and I respect that. My statement is my statement. Don?t care what you think or about you disagreeing with an encyclopedia response.

:blush:But in the 90s they were merging Pop and R&B sounds a lot more

And a lot of R&B has been sounding dry tbh
that hasn?t changed IMO. R&B is as experimental as ever if you find the right artists

Maybe the older girls aren?t

!!!
R&B is more exciting now than it's been in a long time.

R&B is coming back around... I think the old artists except for a certain few are just not on the new wave yet and tryna play catch up now... u can tell by how some are dressing, Miguel went from tryna give sex symbol to Hypebeast and even Bey is fuckin wearing Off White...

The alternative, indie, moody, artistic R&B is on the rise that all these younger artists are putting out (The Internet, Daniel Caesar, Keleela, Brent Faiyaz etc.)... THEY need a platform to take them to the next level but they have the younger cult/underground/Hypebeast audience on lock!

SZA is currently the spokes person since she blew up but she needs to keep doing her and don?t let the industry dumb her down to keep opening doors for these other artists

Harlem

It?s crazy how very lowkey Brandy really was on to some shit Afrodisiac era and the unreleased mess after... too bad for that car accident b/c she been on what these artists are tryna give now musically

Yup

Frank, Hitboy, Fauntleroy ..  lolz

All these niggas got their first placements with Brans. I?d love SZA to write with her

There are plenty. We all just have different tastes i guess

I don?t listen to the old girls

Checkmate Burruss

I don't really like listening to the new girls. They're not really "sangers" to me. And I guess that's because of what I grew up on. I also grew up on LOVE songs. This new wave doesn't really feed my soul like that.
THEY DO ANYDAMNTHANG FUH BSOURCE CLOUT
